Plesk - Enable Extended Lifecycle Support

Instructions to Enable ELS on Plesk

You must be on Plesk Obsidian to install ELS. If you are on Plesk Onyx you will need to upgrade first.

Step 1: Access Plesk

  • Log into your Plesk control panel as you normally would.

Step 2: Access the template list view

  • On the left hand menu click "Extensions"

Step 3: Search for the Extended Lifecycle Support extension

  • In the search box on the top right search for "ELS"

  • Click "TuxCare Extended Lifecycle Support"

Step 4: Install TuxCare

  • Click "Get It Free" - Note: The installation will start immediately.

Step 5: Confirm Installation

  • Click "Open"

  • Confirm "TuxCare ELS" is set to "On"

Your server now has ELS enabled and will start to receive security updates. No further action should be required and you can continue to use your server as you have before.

End-of-Life Operating System - Next Steps

ELS provides support for your EOL OS for the next couple of years, however, we encourage you to start the process of migrating over to a newer OS at the earliest opportunity, not only will this save you money on the Plesk license cost, it will also give you peace of mind that you are using the latest packages.

Having Problems?

If you are having any issues we recommend first consulting the Plesk Knowledge Base. Alternatively, please contact the support team via your billing portal.
